Anybody have a problem sitting in one spot waiting for a bird?

There were a couple instances today where I probably could have got one if I had just sat down and waited.

I just have a hard time sitting there and not getting responses from my calls, not hearing any hens, and not seeing any birds.

What do you guys do? How long will you sit still before moving?

If u know the birds are in that area. If u don't think they are then move.

I'm pretty active myself . I'm always wondering what is over yonder that I can't hear.
I guess it would depend on the acreage available to hunt and the terrain features that could keep a body still longer. I'm in really ruff terrain with miles of ridge tops I like to cover.
Several places on this tract each year hold the sign and I can bet if I just camped on it I could see turkeys but I can't make myself deer hunt them. 30 minutes in one place is about all I can take before I'm going to a different area and trying to strike one.

Patience has killed more turkeys than every other tool a hunter can use combined.

If a bird has answered me, then I'm staying put at least 30-45 minutes. If hasn't gobbled any more that's when it gets tough. The little angel on my left shoulder is telling me to wait because he's just taking his time while the little devil on my right shoulder is screaming for me to call more or move.

Another thing that makes it tough is if there's another bird in the distance gobbling his brains out.

That's what makes this so fun.

I used to run around all the time. But I realized I was bumping birds when I'd get up. Turkeys move on turkey time. They have all day to get nowhere. If he's answered me or I know he's in the area I can stay put.
