as long as it was after legal shooting hours, you should be ok. Those magnum chest thumpers are good out to 83.5 yards. You should not have walked that close.

hahah we laugh but watch there WILL BE a jake shooting thread before April!

i remember the one where catman shot one off the roost and that thread got some folks kicked out of tndeer lol

those are always a touchy subject followed by hen shooting in the fall. All of those i just stay completely away from

Are those the ones that put 437 pellets in a 10" kill zone at 100 yards? If so I have heard about 'em. :D

i thought you were referring to the new gun that puts one pellet in a dot at 100 yards and will also do the same out to 1000 as long as the wind isnt blowing too hard.

You boys are going to have to step up to the new technology.... I'm handloading 5" 4.5oz #12 TSS in my 8ga. I can get an average of 500 hits in a 10" circle @ 100 yards.... counting the 20" ring I have 800+. Woorks good in heavy brush as well.... see a turkey in the bush, just blast him.... and you have a nice cleared path to fetch him. Roosted turkey... no problem.... blast him and the limb out of the tree that way he doestn't get hung up on the way down.... Hen problems... no worries, fall turkey season is golden... this baby can take out a dozen hens with one thunderous blast.

I call my new gun/loads "The Sandman" because them turkeys go right to sleep.... when it goes boom!!

How much are you going to ask for these fine shells and where do i get me one of them 8 gauges? With this setup, i can quit wearing camo and make sure and wear orange as not to get shot myself. :D

$50 per shell.... Availability of those 5" hulls/wads is very limited... import fees for the #12 TSS is crazy. I only shoot Remington shotguns. This one is an 870 Super XXL Magnum Special Purpose model.... I know people ;)

Sounds like I will just make me a 6 gauge muzzleloading shotgun. The I can put #13 TSS and the new sleeping dust in my barrel. That way as long as I shoot downwind I will get them even out to 500 yards.

:D :D :D :D "Pixie Dust" loads.....

I prefer to shoot them off the roost at night with a night vision scope on a .243 from 350 yards across a power line cut.

Just use a spotlight, look for the glowing blue eyes to aim at.

no, with the spotlight I am too busy looking for green eyes bobbing up and down in cut corn fields. Roll-down windows in the truck are great rests for the rifle for those long shots
