The first 2 weeks of the season I kept battling with a bird on a small property I hunt. I haven't been to that property in well over a week. Tomorrow morning I will be back out there before dawn trying to get set up on this bird that always seems one step ahead of me. The property manager is still seeing and hearing him. Fortunately, tomorrow morning I will have a little longer to hunt so I am going to set up, be patient and see what happens. This is my third year turkey hunting and my first "nemesis" bird. I am looking forward to the challenge.

I was able to hunt a little later today...until 9:30am. Did not hear a gobble or so much as see a hen. The property manager said they were gobbling yesterday morning. Who knows? Anyone have any thoughts or than simply they have moved out of the area?

He might have seen you are heard you move into your set up. This time of the year they sometimes go into a quite period. If the manager has been hearing him. I would say it's something simple. Maybe he's dead.

Just turkeys being turkeys! Some days they don't gobble for reasons you can only guess at. Go back tomorrow or the next day and things will probably be different.
