I just attended the 1st day (04-24-2014) of the April TWRA-Commission meeting --- at least I feel like I was there via watching the professionally recorded meeting.

First, let me say "Thank you" TWRA for providing the meetings online. I'm sure I'm just one of many who would like to attend these meetings regularly but simply cannot make many of the live meetings.

Secondly, this was absolutely the best, most well orchestrated, and professional TWRA-Commission meeting I have ever attended. "Wow" is Jamie Woodson a pro at conducting a meeting format like this! It will not surprise me if that lady is someday the President of our nation --- she is a true leader. And all of the commissioners seemed very engaged and were asking very good questions (unlike some commission meetings of the past). Am particularly happy that Mr. Bill Cox is still serving the sportsmen of Tennessee as a commissioner who has always taken this role seriously, asking very engaging questions, and truly looking out for the best balance of all interests.

Unlike some commission meetings of the past where there was bickering and somewhat inappropriate outbursts, this was a meeting I believe should make everyone proud. "BigGameGuy" did a great job with his multiple presentations, as did "SCN". There were several more, all did a great job.

"THANK YOU" to all who were involved, including those sportsmen who attended and spoke. Everyone did well, really great job guys, and one Southern Belle.

If anyone else would like to "attend" this meeting, below is the link:

Thanks, Wes. I have had the pleasure of working with many great commissioners over the years. But, in all honesty, this is probably the best Commission in total that I have worked with. All of these ladies and gentlemen are hunters and fishermen and are very engaged in looking out for the best interests of our sports men and women.

I'm very, very glad to hear that. I admit I was not a regular at many meetings, but I've kept up with the happenings for a while and this isn't the first time I've heard such positive things about the current commission members.

I've spoken personally with Jamie Woodson, and she has been more than helpful in hearing my concerns and suggestions regarding hunting in TN. Very classy lady!

I'll second that

When she served in our State legislature and as a State Senator, she was one of the very few I felt worthy of total trust. She actually "served" us, as was meant to be. I was elated to see her on the commission, even more elated to know she's a lady with a passion for hunting & fishing who is mentoring many impressionable children/teenagers. I would not be surprised to see her a future Governor of Tennessee (or even President of our nation). I'll even go so far as to say if Rand Paul wins the Republican primary, he should seriously consider her as a running mate.
