My Lee reloading manual doesn't list imr 4350 for 120 gr nosler ballistic tip but nosler gives load data for it. Will I be safe using in my rifle?

I don't think Nosler would publish data that was known to be unsafe. In fact, most published data is quite conservative. As always, start low, and work up.

I just went to the IMR website and they don't list IMR 4350 for 120 grains but they do give loads for it with all bullet weights from 139 grains up. OF course that doesn't mean it's unsafe. Could mean that the powder wasn't quite as consistent or lacking in some other area for lighter bullets. Maybe they didn't list it partly due to having to limit loads due to space - you can't list every possible load after all. If Nosler gives a load, I'd use it without hesitation. I've never owned a loading manual in my life and always rely on 1st the powder manufacturers and 2nd bullet manufacturers for loads. Any other source, especially individuals, are highly suspect and approached with lots of caution.

NSG--
I cannot check any sites at the moment. What I know from personal load experience is go get a pound of RL15.

If no RL15 available just follow regular rules of start low and work up.

IMR4350 is a midrange powder and case capacity of the 7mm08 wants a heavier bullet.

IMR/H/AA 4350 are all a little too slow of a powder for the 120gr bullets and will yield lower velocities especially with shorter barrel lengths.

Varget and RL15 work well, however Varget will be dirty, run a bit warm and is slightly too fast for the 120gr bullets. RL15 is about the sweet spot.

Where do you guys recommend I buy some rl15? I can do a local pickup at Bass Pro Shop if they have any in stock or I can order some off the internet and pay the hazmat fee. What are you guys recommend?

Of course I'm in Blount County.

Check Academy for the Reloader 15 powder. Bass Pro and Cabelas will have it also, i see it it Memphis anyway. Sportsman's warehouse also.

The hazmat fee is generally 25 and up so you may want to consider a large order to spread that cost. The local store prices will be from 5 to 15 bucks over the on line price but NO haz mat fee. Small purchases, use local but that no-haz-mat-fee advantage disappears around the 3 or 4 pound purchase level.

If you want to use your powder you need to go heavier on the bullet, to a 140. Sierra makes a Pro Hunter flat base that would work great out to 300 yds.

I don't know where the people that say IMR 4350 won't work on lighter bullets got their info. Every gun is different, but my 20" 7-08 shoots 1.5" groups at 200 yards with IMR4350 and 120 gr Sierra Pro Hunters

X2!! I use IMR 4350 in my Mdl 7 [18" barrel] with 120 gr Nosler BT's. Shoots MOA at 100 yds, never shot it at 200 so can't comment on that.
I'm sure there are powders better suited for 120 grainers in a 7-08 [RL15, Varget, 4064, etc] but IMR 4350 is what I use in all of my rifles except the 45-70. In fact I get great results with 4350 in my .243, .260, .270, and 7mm Mag.
Why do I only use 4350 in most of my rifles? Because i've found it to be simpler for me to only stock a couple of different powders. If I was a "target" shooter I would play the perfect powder game for my rifles. But since I don't target shoot and use all of my rifles for hunting MOA is good enough for me.

I could not get IMR4350 to group as tight as RL15 with 120 grain bullets in my 7mm08. In my 280 and 06 it is perfect for 140 and 150 grain rounds.

You will find these kinds of differences between reloading manuals. The IMR4350 info could be the perfect powder for your 7-08 with 120 grain rounds. Start low, work up, evaluate.

If you reach a point that satisfies you then congratulations.
