IMR 4831

Not sure if anyone has it now, but I have seen it recently at some of the big mail order distributors. I almost bought some, but decided I didn't really need it at the time. Keep an eye on Hodgdon's web site, it will drop there first and their prices seem to be about the same as anyone else.

A lot of the slower rifle powders are still hard to find. When you do, they can be expensive too. I've not been to Gamaliel in awhile. I live about 20 minutes from it too.

I've still got 1 of the old metal cans and haven't used much of it. Got 2 unopened plastic bottles. Too bad you ain't closer or we could trade a pound or 2. I'm hoping to use LRT for my 300 if it works in my 28 Nosler. I don't have to worry about running out since I have trouble finding LRM primers.

Speaking of LRT a friend of mine came over yesterday, I have a 300 yard range behind my shop he had some loads worked up with LTR in his 300 RUM, he was shooting 180 Barnes TSX and chronograph average right at 3200 fps, I thought that was pretty impressive. I have never shot any of the LTR in any of my bigger bore rifles.

I'll let you know how it behaves out of mine. I mainly got it hoping to find a fix for my 28. It hated. The Hornady 162 stuff. I hope it or N570 with 180gr will do what I want. I'm not really looking for velocity, but tight groups. I think from what I've seen is that the 28 Nosler is best between 2950 and 3100 fps, even with lighter loads.
