In The Morning

Good luck! A buddy of mine text me at daylight and said one was blowing the bark off the trees as he left for work. Should be good in the morning!

I'll be taking the kids this weekend on public. We have yet to kill one.

We may go explore BF Grant youth hunt or just go nearby at Sheffield, Paulding, or Pinelog WMA's.

The THP guys should be rolling into GA somewhere now. I would assume they would hunt somewhere south since they were just in FL, but most of the turkeys on public are killed north of Atlanta.

They outta try these mountains out.

I'm jealous! I was supposed to be high on a ridge tomorrow morning two hours before daybreak on a North GA WMA. Of course the girls brought the stomach bug home with them from day care on Wednesday and we've all been laid up since. Good luck, I hope you have some action.

Very windy for me this morning. I got to a gate first but am getting people parking right next to me. Public hunting is getting so frustrating. Small WMA so no real chance to just out walk them.

Good luck to both of you! Yes hunter etiquette and public land no longer seem to go in the same sentence anymore PSF. Heading out to listen this morning.

Just got parked, saw 1 other Hunter towards the bottom of the mountain. Rugged country has that advantage. I seen a gobbler and some hens a couple weeks ago in a nearby food plot. Hope he's somewhere close talking. No wind here. 37 degrees. Waiting on flydown...
I'm on a quota hunt. Plenty of space for all but they can't adjust I guess. I talked to them, they are all together and "heading to an opening on the left to put out their avian x flock". The left side of the road is safety zone lol I just went on and didn't warn them, screw it.

Oh dang, be careful buddy. Another reason I like the mountains! People are crazy!!

Waiting for a gobble

I called up two hens. No gobbles heard, very windy though. Hoping the wind lays down. Really didn't see any sign to speak of. Looked like a 1/35 success rate on the quota as of now. I will probably just head home tomorrow afternoon and come back next weekend. Don't want to burn vacation days that I need for up north in May.
