Anyone hunting Chuck Swan next week. Or maybe a little advice would be great. Also any recommendations on where to stay over there (motel or campground ) ?

There is tent camping at the entrance of the wma. Not sure what else is available up there, it's been 8+ years since I've been to Sharp's Chapel. I hunted it a couple times but not recently.

I'll be there tent camping but I have never even been there so I'm not much help. Last forecast I saw was pretty cold.

I am bringing a buddy heater and 20lb tank so cold shouldn't be a problem.
Not sure which model you have, but make sure everything is "vented" properly so you live to see another day. You may also want to pick up a digital carbon monoxide (CO) detector for safe measure.

The way I'm interpreting this, you can't even enter the area after 1PM right? That sure kills my normal tactics of roaming in the evenings and trying to figure out where to be the next morning if that's the case. That and the cold are making me think I should be in Bama.

I would ask them on that one Pickett, In the past you had to check out by 1 but was allowed go back in to scout but your gun must stay in the case or at camp. In other words as long as you were not hunting you were good. I would just ask ,the guys at Chuck Swan are extremely nice fellas.

After 1:00 you can go back in and roam all you want until dark. No hunting. I'll be there all three days. Usually camp, but staying in a hotel this year with a buddy. I'll be with the guy in the track chair :D

Good deal. That's helpful. I had to look up what a track chair was.

Thought you were a veteran :) My buddy is in a wheelchair and hunts with a track chair. He'll be in a blue chevy with a rack on back. I'll be in a forest green dodge with the bad paint job. And no, I'm not "The Man" :)
