This has been my first full year home in TN for about 5 years. I am a school teacher at Hunters Lane, but I live in Clarksville. Luckily one of my fellow teachers has a small farm that she allows me to hunt. I also have a farm in Clarksville that is a mile from the house.......so I have hunted "almost" everyday....but only for extended periods on the weekends. I have to be to school by 645, so I can hunt until 630 each day M-F. I woke up this morning...and had to "think" about it. I have one tag left, and though the weekend is coming, we have Graduation on Saturday and a flag detail on Sunday which will limit time in the woods. I went, nothing was gobbling, and I actually left the farm early....for fear I would fall asleep against the tree and be late to work. The nice thing about getting out of school by 205 is that I can hunt afternoons. I have learned that a bird can be just as hot in the afternoon as in the morning.....just harder to find sometimes as they aren't on the roost sounding off.

i hear ya man, the last couple weeks ive been going almost everyday after work. the WMA I go to requires a bunch of walking in my opinion, they are very quiet in the afternoons so I basically walk to the whole thing and look for birds in the fields. I actually got a late work call yesterday, instead of sleeping in I went hunting and my wife thought I was crazy haha...again walked way in and spotted a couple at the very far end of the area. ended up bumping them after they went left when I thought they went right :( still a good morning after that storm. I may be a little worn out but not going to stop me from hunting all weekend :P

Hunters that only get to hunt on a Sat are sure at a disavantage in killing many turkeys!!
It can make a feller grouchy.
Just imagine that feeling when your wife gets stingy and holds out on you its feels like that only much worse!
I've had 4 opportunities and screwed up 2 of them [emoji22]

It's very rare for me to get tired enough where I don want to go but I'm there, probably has something to do with only hearing a few gobbles since the first week.

Ditto!

Yes. I'll be glad when Monday rolls around, then by Wednesday I'll be counting down the days til next spring.

I am pretty wore down, I've hunted a lot. I get up for work at 0430 so I do get tired of waking up early to hunt since it turns into not sleeping past 430 since Mid March until now.

Cowman....wow, to me deer hunting is something to do to kill time till Turkey season rolls around in the spring!! Do you hunt public or private in Florida? If you hunt with an outfitter can you make a recommendation? My schools spring break is in March, and I want to hunt someplace different next year.

Same for me. Four opportunities, 2 screw ups. Only really get to hunt on Saturday and Sunday.

The wounded vet from Michigan here hunting with me got #2 this morning. I think that is a great way to end the season.
Im not going to lie, it's going to feel great to sleep past 3:15 am in the morning.

I am , hunted almost everyday of the season before work even if I had to be out of the woods at 630... Hunted more this turkey season than I have gotten to in a long time , had a great time and learned a lot
