couldn't pass up the deal at academy in franklin. There are still some left on the shelf. I think the original was 129.99 but on clearance for 49.99.

It's a Wildview X8IR, black flash, 8 mp, 50 ft range, just need to buy some batteries and another SD card and put it in the field. I cant seem to find anywhere in the manual that mentions battery life. I will look again just to be sure. but does anyone have one of these cameras and know some pros or cons? I am new to trail cams, this is my 2nd one to own.

Thanks

The battery life will vary significantly depending on a number of variables like whether you have it in photo or video mode and what delay setting you use. In photo mode it will depend on whether you have it on multi-shot burst mode or single shot mode and whether you have it in 24 hr mode or daytime only mode. In video mode it will depend on whether you have it set for short video clips or longer video clips. If you want the batteries to last the longest then set the camera to photo and non-burst mode (1 shot per detection).

Yeah I don't want any videos, just day and night pics, not sure if I want burst mode or not. Just wondering if anyone has used this camera and how the battery life compares to other cameras.

I have not heard any good things about them. One guy I know says the flash goes out quick but for that cheap if they last a year or two then your coming out on top.

Checked it today after setting it up yesterday because I had a fresh bag of corn to dump. Got good pics of coons and a few of a doe at night and a doe in daylight. Hope there are buck pics next time I check it and hope the coons don't eat all the corn.

I have owned a couple Wildview's. From what I have seen, you have to set them at a 3 round burst because your night pictures will sometimes be dark if you don't. They were ok camera's. Both lasted about 1 year. Took some decent pics. For that price it's a good deal. I buy all Primos cameras now.
