Is it just me?? I have patterned a few turkeys here at home so close that i can pretty much set my watch by them.. My set up this morning was soooo good, I mean guarenteed good, that i started to leave the calls and decoys home.. these birds have been coming through the same little opening for 5-6 days straight.. I went ahead and put out a couple of decoys, my daughter and i got all set up this morning.. we had plenty of time to kill the gobbler and still make it to sunday school... but only one small problem... they never showed... the closest gobble we heard was probably 200 yards away.. going the opposite direction...lol.. oh well...

People dont realize how good of hearing they have.They hear trucks pull up,park,walk in Etc.Not saying thats the case here but you never know.

Been there too, and sometimes it's almost like they have a turkey hunting guide in their back pocket.

they may have seen the deeks and went the other way. early in the season imo deeks are a waste.

Decoys could have easily turned them back, they are used to not seeing anybody in their spot and all of a sudden new turkeys beat them there. Exactly why I don't use Decoys.

Could have seen you come in.

Could have heard you before flydown time

Something could have spooked them the afternoon before.

My money is on the Decoys however
