I killed a whopper opening morning and thought "This is going to be a great season"...Well, that was it, I have been on twelve hunts since then and nothing...I cant even hear a gobble... I know they are there because I still see tracks and scratches, they are just extremely quiet and hidden.
I drove two hours to Crossville last weekend hoping to jumpstart my luck. Nothing.....I mean absolutely nothing...
This Saturday morning will be it for me.. I am traveling the last weekend of the season so this is it..
I dont really expect things to be any different, but you cant kill em from the couch.

I hear ya Rob. Ain't exactly been gravy for me either. Missed not one but two different birds at 15yards early on and am having no luck callling anything in but jakes and hens. Good luck this weekend! I'm not giving up but this has been a challenging season, and yes I need my arse kicked for missing two birds at close range! LOL!

My theory for what it is worth. Still have good numbers of turkeys but just not many longbeards so gobbling is extremely limited. Very tough season.

I missed 1 and did not have gun loaded correctly on another so yes I could kick myself in the arse too. hubby has got 2 jakes and a Tom and I just have not had the luck I am travelling this weekend too got to do something!!!
