I am happy with him. I called a whole flock up this morning right after flydown. I was watching the strutter bringing up the rear. When He was within 40yards he passed behind a Large whiteoak, I had my gun up and waited for his head to come out from behind the tree.I saw the white noggin and fired on it and the turkey went to flopping. Imagine my suprise when my Longbeard turned into a jake! I guess there was a jake behind the tree the longbeard went behind and he stuck his head out at the wrong time. Anyway Turkey and dressing is whats for dinner :D

I hope that you are!"happy with him". You ought to be. One of my pet peeves on here is the guys that apologize for killing a year old gobbler, like it's some sort of sin. I have killed a number of gobblers (somewhere in double digits) of all age groups. To me, there is no difference between a one year old(which I have killed) a two year old(which I have killed) a three year old(which I have killed) and a four year old(which I have killed), except that the one year old birds eat better! lol Those that look down on killing a jake, leave your condescending crap at the door. Timberjake 86, your's is a beautiful bird, of which anyone should be proud.

Thanks, I have harvested bigger bird's but I dont believe I have had a better weekend hunting than I had with my dad this weekend. Plus I got a turkey dinner to boot :D

Its the same with turkeys as it is with deer. There are enough of them around all different sizes and ages that everybody that hunts should be able to kill what they want. Hey if he had walked in front of me he would be stone cold dead too. Congrats man.
