It's Official!

Somebody on ArcheryTalk owes me a coke for that. In one of the threads back in the late summer. Heheh.

Most people don't know who Levi or Darrin are. In the case of Levi...he is 3D archery's equivalent to folks like Jimmy Johnson or Jeff Gordon of NASCAR...multi time champion, that has been with one brand his whole professional career...and now he's going to something else. That would be like Gordon or Johnson switching to Ford or Toyota. Pretty wild stuff. But outside of the 3D archery realm...nobody knows them.

Says they signed a Multi-Year contract...??? For competition and for their TV shows...???

I don't pay attention to either so I shouldn't be surprised, but I had no idea these guys could be bought. I figured they would use whatever bow they thought would get them first place. Bows change so much year to year I'm surprised they would sign a multi-year contract? Oh well, I would sign the contract too if they would pay me!!!

While having proper equipment for their needs is part of it, a large part of the decision making is done through their wallet. Once you get to the level that Levi is at, a person can almost outshoot most with a broomstick with a rope attached to it as their bow.

I'm sure Elite is paying out the nose in contract and contingency feesespecially to snatch these two.

The Outdoor Group that owns Scott, CBE, Elite and others, I'm sure had a large role in negotiating the terms to seal the deal! This could be a game changer for a 2nd tier bow company!

Well, the cost has pretty much stayed the same, except for the target color bows...and they are about $200 higher than the camo/black bows of the same model. Most target colors ARE higher than the camo edition bows...but usually $50 or maybe $100. Elite has the highest I've ever heard of for a target color...$200 is on up there. I don't see them selling many of them...simply because there's no proof that a blue or green bow will outshoot a camo or black one of the same model. Elite is just part of a group...that consists of Elite, CBE, and Scott archery. All those are sponsors to Levi...so I imagine the cost will be covered evenly, instead of just dumping it all on the Elite bow line.
