with hens in Williamson County. Been seeing one for the last week or so in the same field. tonight on Patton rd (road Arrington Vineyards is on) saw one with a hen and anothe subordinate there with him.

I've noticed they start in February with the strutting and it goes on through June. I'm wondering if the hens they are strutting for have had their nests ruined and thus have gone back to try again?

Cool, thanks for sharing. I've seen the same ole bird strutting twice this week in a field with 4 other turkeys. One day he was locked up strutting in the sun when the temp was 91 degrees, and he never broke strut for the 5 minutes I pulled over and watched him. He ain't no quitter, LOL. :D

Whoa whoa whoa. Y'all can not be seeing strutters and hearing birds gobbling this late. Every year on different forums with people from all over the US you read where lots of guys are saying that they are done and the season might only be halfway over. Sometimes before it even opens! Heck I hear locals screaming it every year when the birds get a little quiet. Best gobbling day I and my buddies heard this year was after the season had closed.

Seen a strutter on my way to work this morning. I got him to gobble.
Since my neighbor has stopped feeding corn in the last 2 weeks I've had several gobblers start showing up behind the house.
Working cows yesterday morning at daylight, my son and me heard 5 toms giving it heck on the ridge behind the house.
Also watched 2 toms this week courting a couple hens this week too up on the ridge.

You have to give them credit for not giving up hope just yet. I guess I would be the same knowing I only got a few precious weeks during the spring.

The strutters are just hoping one more hen will give him a glance :D !
