Jalen Hurd

Did I hear the announcers right the other day saying that Hurd was the fastest player on the team? I knew he had some speed, but I didn't know that.

I'm not sure about that.... He has several 40 times listed on his scouting report ranging from 4.37 to 4.67.

I have watched both games and he is not 4.37.... :) That doesn't have anything to do with if he will be a good back because Emmitt Smith only ran a 4.6 and probably one of the best backs ever.

It's hard to tell how good Hurd will be behind the line TN has in place now.

marshawn lynch ran 4.6 and is pretty dominant. chris Johnson ran 4.28 and aint worth a crap

Vision, balance, and quick off the cut helps.

Didn't Chris Johnson almost break the NFL single season rushing total... You might be reaching and I wouldn't call him crap because breaking 2,000 yards in the NFL isn't luck... :) He's also went over a 1,000 yards every year since he's has been in the NFL... SMH

Watched him in High School. Supposed to be a really good kid.

He looks good but I swear he looks skinny to me. Hopefully they will thicken him up by next season.

Here's a clue.... Those sizes that H.S. and college post are not always true..... :) No one wants to post a small team.... :) Happens at every school.

I thought the same. He is no Eddie lacy or Zac Stacey that's for sure.

A friend was telling me that the announcers were talking about a gps measurement of his speed. I'm not sure what that means, but I would say that he is not the fastest on the team in the 40.

SO far, he looks to be a solid, durable back.

However, I haven't seen anything that makes me believe he will be an "elite" back. Of course, I'm not sure what Barry Sanders could do if he were getting hit 2 yards behind the line every carry :D !

Like Shelby stated above, he needs to get the ball more on the edges.

You must of never seen Sanders play for the Lions.... :D He spent most of his career avoiding the defense in the backfield... :)
