I just wonder ..and I think he made a bad decision.
He could already be in the NFL making a lot of money
All he had to do was finish out that last season at Tennessee, and he gets picked in the middle of the first round, and he's making a lot of money," an NFL scout told Bleacher Report. "Now there's a lot of questions."

When he is told of the scout's assessment, Hurd runs his hands through his tightly cropped hair and takes a deep breath. Why do you walk away from the certainty of a multimillion-dollar contract, take a nearly two-year sabbatical from the game you have played since you were 6 years old, to change positions and play for a program that won once in 2017?

I didn't just do this on a whim. I researched it," Hurd said. "Running backs last 3.5 years in the NFL. Wide receivers can last 10 or more years. Receivers are more valued than running backs in the NFL, and I can play this game a lot longer and can be more valuable as a receiver. It's not just a position and career change, it's a life change.

"Baylor is reinventing itself; I'm reinventing myself. We both have a lot to prove."

It's a multimillion-dollar gamble.

He has had a good season over there. I get the argument but Butch was running him to death. I once held it against Hurd but I think he wanted out of a toxic program where he was promised some things that never got delivered.

He can go to the nfl whenever he wants to, it will make no difference.
He will get one good check (first years worth) and then after that he will get whatever the minimum is for a average to below average back up quarterback.

I thought he left after his sophomore season? If so he would have had to stay his Jr year then go... He sat out his Jr year and played this year. IMO he had a good year and showed he is a Hback/TE type player. I think he gets drafted 3rd round and has a pretty good NFL career. But I bet he wouldn't have went 1st round as a rb

I liked Hurd at UT. Thought he was a pretty decent HB playing under a poor coach & system. Look at his numbers while at UT they don't lie playing behind a poor Oline most the time & an average offense.

Those quick speedy pass-catching run in space type TE players are being used more than ever in the NFL then add in the fact he could line up in the backfield for some plays. he will get his shot in the NFL

Exactly

I was thinking about Alvin Kamara,Jalen Hurd played way out in front of AK.
Look what AK has done for 2 years now..
Was just thinking if he had not of transferred .and just left with AK He would already be established as one of the best in the NFL???
Maybe comparing apples to oranges here but ..I hope things work out for him.
Butch Jones was a prick ..and a beast to play for .so I have heard, maybe a little why he left.
But his mother had no money ..and if it were me I would be wanting to help my family
