Tennessee football coach Butch Jones was given a $500,000 raise Monday, pushing his annual salary up to $4.1 million, according to a contract addendum released by UT.
Jones wasn't given an extension, so there's still five years left on his contract, but obviously he got a significant raise.

"Butch Jones has done an outstanding job leading this football program on and off the field," Tennessee athletic director Dave Hart said in a prepared statement. "As I said recently, Butch has brought stability to our program. When we hired Butch (three) years ago, he laid out a vision of how we wanted to build this program back to where we all want it to be. We have made great strides, however, it remains an ongoing process.

"Most importantly, we have the right leader to get us to our ultimate destination and we are rewarding him accordingly."

Good for him but I'm sick of coach and player contracts. They're worth about as much as the paper they're written on. Whatever happened to playing / coaching out your contract then going from there? Might as well do them every year and be done with it.

Why do you care? If Butch sucks like you say, you should hope he never leaves as much as you hate Tennessee. I suspect you went to school with Butch and he took your lunch money everyday.
