I've had a few bows in my life. When I was in high school, I hauled hay all summer, worked tobacco, and did other odd jobs to buy a Pearson from Wal-mart. I soon upgraded to a Golden Eagle, then a nice Darton that had an overdraw and shot 25" arrows. When my uncle upgraded to a new Matthews, I bought his old Jennings Buckmaster. Eventually, I got an urge for something smaller and bought a PSE Firestorm.
Unlike any other bow, that PSE was a work of art. I always liked shooting bows, but they were tools until that PSE. I absolutely loved it. But, alas, the trader in me succumbed to a good offer and after one season with that bow, I traded it for a Smith & Wesson 30.06.
As I drove away from the parking lot where I traded it, I began kicking myself. I have kicked for about two bow-less years. A while back, I was at my local hunting store and was killing time while the owner was busy. That's when it happened. Hidden amongst the racks of Hoyts and Matthews, a lone, brand new PSE Firestorm.
From that moment, it has haunted my dreams. I've scoured the internet, but haven't found another new Firestorm anywhere. His price reflected the fact that it was new, so I was forced to dream. A few weeks ago, I went in and the price had dropped drastically. I began to plan and scheme, but the money wasn't adding up, not with the newest addition to our family on August 30 of this year.
Finally, today I had reached my limit. I traded my slightly used Mossberg 835 for that PSE Firestorm. I tried telling myself to wait until next year to get a new model, but I just love that little bow. I was so happy, I had to tell somebody...thanks for listening.
