not likely to be broken... if it were broken at the joint, the deer would not be able to bear weight on that leg. I'd suspect it's a synovial infection (an infection in the joint). She'll have a bit of trouble with it, as they are very hard to heal and get over. As far as whether to eat the meat or not, I'd use all the deer except for the lower 1/2 of that ham, the rest should be fine unless she loses a ton of weight over the next few weeks and looks septic.
