Just heard my first

Gobbles of the year few minutes ago. Been calling off my back deck in the last couple weeks trying to get a reply. Hit the houndstooth vixen and three gobbled at the same time. Made the hair stand up on the back of my neck. Anyone else hearing them?

My newest neighbors, about 400 yards thru the woods have a tame Gobbler. He sounds off constantly. It's a pita mostly, because it catches me off guard about half the time.
In a other way it's useful, in that it helps me to learn how far away they sound during various weather conditions.
With no leaves on the trees, right now he's loud enough that he sounds like he's less than 100 yards away.
I guess the holler between our properties magnifies the sound.

Heard them Sunday morning gobbling on the roost
