Why do so many of you use your cameras to take a picture of your trail cam pics from your computer?

I'm sure there is a reason but can't think of anything.

I don't have a computer anymore except my i phone to download them so I have to watch them on the big screen tv at home and wait till I'm at work and have time to download them to photobucket on my computer there.

I cant figure out how to send my pics from my documents to photobucket is why i do it.

both of those reason seem to make sense.

Rem-click the green upload button on pb and it should come up with the upload page. Click the button on it and it should pop up a box to let you search through your computer.

Some cameras geotag (I believe that's the term) the pictures. People with the know how can then take YOUR pictures and know the exact location of where the pic was taken. Taking a picture of the trail cam photo takes care of this problem.

I am picky about my pics and always put em on photobucket and sometimes snag the URL from a photo I posted on facebook. I'm not bashing anyone who takes pics of their pics but for me, I couldn't stand doing that.

I'm not sure about photobucket but they probably remove geotags and other info from your pics. I think facebook does it too. Some websites are smart enough to remove that info when you upload a pic.

To avoid the geotag all you have to do is take a screenshot with the prnt:scrn button :)

Once you hit that open up paint and click paste, now just crop the image and cut it from the document. Open a new paint document and click paste.

But like catman said, I doubt photovucket shares that info.

The only cameras that can geotag are cameras with built in GPS receivers or some other positional system, such as cameras built into smartphones and cellphones. The trail-cameras that email or send pictures via cell service might have this feature, but stand-alone cameras will not.

This is something I didn't think about.... most trail cams and homebrews wouldn't be able to geotag because there is no GPS.
