Well Alexis did not get to connect on her first turkey...but she had a great time. We both got to laugh at each other when one of us would step in a hole and fall.

The turkeys had lockjaw this morning, never heard the first gobble. But we sat up where there was good sign...they just never showed.

And as a bonus when were leaving, we saw a VERY nice buck! Guessing I would say between 130-140ish. I was amazed he hadn't dropped his antlers yet being its the end of March.

My Sunrise morning began jus chillin by the fire and listening to birds....can't get much better than that considerin I didnt have a kid to take?? Birds absolutely blew the woods down heard around 20 birds which not all were accessable and after daylight I ran to certainn high spots on the farm and spotted for guys in the fields below!

The day also featured a trio of JAKES killed, all weighing around 13 lbs.

The day soon ended as we watched a couple Longbeards go to roost so we could put another kid in the hotseat this morning, it was really cold last night I slept in the trailer sleeping bag and heater full blast!!!

This morning we got up around 4am and ate breakfast and headed towards a new spot, birds were seen headed to roost and we anticipated the mornings hunt! As the sun rises we hear birds across the road and for that matter all around us but none on us?????????? Don't know what happend there but soon had Hens flying into our field, I videoed all I could under circumstances that I was in laying beside a log not seeing very good! About 30 hens fed down towards us with a Bearded hen in the bunch, but too far for a shot? All of a sudden hear one blast out across the road, grab binocs and spot him coming off the hill sure enough a BOSS TOM on the hill coming our way! Crosses the road eases towards the hens and was luckily on our side of the hens, I told James & Nathan that I'm going to try to call he has everything he wants a but we will giver er a shot!! Start the 1st session of calling soft yelps into the field and turns towards me blows into strut and starts our way only 70 yards out, Finally works within 7 steps and I told him to pour it too him and there his life of "Fun Filled Days of Strutting" ended only 7 steps from the gun barrel one of my most memorable hunts and Nathans 1st Longbeard!!! Sorry the post is so long I'm pretty tickled!!!!

Overall we killed 6 Birds out of 12 Hunters!

20.4 lbs.
9" Beard
1" Spurs
