So my older son and I sat the morning, had 4 hens come in, cut us off from a gobbler. He's killed 2 birds, so we struck out, no big deal. He had to go to a birthday party. So my 7 year old is left. We've tried before, but I had low expectations. A good reason to get out on a great afternoon and look at turkeys.
I had to take a nap, so we finally got out at 2:15. We went to the first food plot where we were going to sit and there were 5 jakes already feeding on the clover. He was bummed we couldn't put the sneak on them. So we went to the back up blind. Had my feet up, reading a book, when leaves crunched behind us and 4 jakes came out. Only 3 left! He's one for one on pulling the trigger!
