We've had a very few 5* Olineman. Some were busts, which leads me to believe they got their ranking purely on being bigger than their opponents, and weren't willing to work to improve.

But, all of Bamas recruits are 4 or 5*s. The recruiting services have always tilted to Bama. It's amazing how somebody can be a 3 or 4 *, and then Bama gets the commitment and they magically gain a star 😀 !

Lots of players get late rankings bumps based upon their offer list, not just Bama's offers. 'Cruiting rankings are not an exact science (although they have become more of a science over the past few years), and evaluators use many different criteria for rankings. So if a late blooming 3* all of a sudden starts picking up a bunch of offers from big programs, then, yes, they very well may become a 4* overnight; or a low 4* may become a higher 4* overnight. Also, sports journalists like to randomly swap back and forth between ratings types or services to make the point of their articles more flashy, and ratings services evaluate/rate individual players VERY differently sometimes.

That's what I thought when I saw how big he is.
Hopefully he won't be a bust.
