Anybody catching any?

I'm just recovering from shoulder surgery and wanting to go give them a try.

Any tips on catching a few would be appreciated .

I'm not asking for your "Honey Hole" location....just a little help.

Type bait? Jigs, minnows or jigs with minnows ? Type of structure and depth at this time of the year.

I'm fishing around the New Johnsonville area and North mostly.

Thanks

harmons creek. the young shad are moving toward the shallows and the crappie are following. get there early. there were plenty of boats monday. minnows or jigs. i never use minnows anymore and mainly use 2" curly tail minnow in pumpkin green/blue metallic but i single pole cast. look at the creek ledges in about 15ft of water with cover.

birdsong-dont waste your time here yet.

im sure you have experience on this part of the lake, but i will warn you anyway. set your gps chart to highlight 0- 6 ft of water and it will keep you from have to buy a new boat motor this time of year. if it reads 6ft then you are actually at 2ft of water at winter pool. a guy i work with forgot about what i told him and skinned his lower unit and prop coming out of pilot knob.

Thanks WTM , that's were I was planning to go first.

I caught a few there in the early Spring.

I'm still just learning my way around here.

I'm aware of the Dangers , but Thanks for the reminder.

And Thanks for the tips.
