Kentucky Muzzleloader Oct. 15-16, 2022

The early muzzleloader has always been hit or miss according to the weather. 2014 I seen 118 deer in 2 days. Lows were in the 30's that weekend. That's the best year I've had for movement for the early mz.

I seen 10 deer all weekend this past weekend. Saturday morning was a goose egg, Saturday Eve seen 7 does, Sunday morning 2 does, and Sunday Eve 1 spike.

Wow, nice buck.

I have hunted the 2 day muzzleloader for many years. I always see a pile of deer. This year was no exception. The evenings were better this year but they were on their feet, saw lots of sparring.

I have never seen a buck I wanted to shoot in the 2 day muzzleloader.

I snuck out Sunday afternoon for a short hunt. I've never seen this farm so dry. Bean fields had tons of waste beans and nobody seems to have drilled any wheat.
At 5:41 I seen 4 does, what looked like a 3.5 ye old came out and scent checked them then went right back into thick cover. Shortly after a fork horn came out and fed with the does.
The usual scrapes and rubs are not existent. Didn't hear any acorns falling but did find some locust pods and that like they might be feeding on but not heavily.

The farm I hunt was starting to show rubs and scrapes. Saw 3 scrapes being worked by younger bucks. A couple of really good rubs.

Hunting an area this weekend that has acorns and piles of deer sign. Hoping to at least stick a doe, if not 2 or 3.

Hunted Christian county both days. Saw zero deer from stand.
My hunting buddy saw one doe and missed a 150 yd shot.

No acorns, crops or water on the 200 acres we hunt.
