In the past Kicks had a chart for you to use in selecting the best constriction. Now you pick your brand/model of gun and they have the best one circled. Well the problem is, its different than the chart. What happen to the chart that use to be on he sight?

For example. The chart use to recommend I use a .680 in my Mossberg 935, Now it has .675 and is recommending the the same size shot. I've tried to call and ask if they have change the tube and if I were to buy a newer tube do I need to buy a .675 or go with the .680 that use to be recommended. I know that #5 in a 3" and #6 in 3 1/2 " Winchester Longbeard XR is what best shot out of my gun so why the change?

Anyone else notice the change? is this just a marketing move to sell more chokes? You can't get no one on the phone for an answer.

:bash:

When you get down to 5 thousandths difference in constriction you're splitting hairs...pattern can easily vary from barrel to barrel and load to load what a particular gun likes between 675 and 680. Even temperature, humidity, and barometric pressure can make a difference. I've even seen guns patter differently froma rest or sled vs. on a knee.

Without shooting both it'd be hard to predict which choke performs better in YOUR gun. And that is probably exactly what the marketers want...for you to buy'em both.

Thanks guys. I have bought both and the .680 shoot a lot better in my gun. I had a friend that was shooting a .680 in a 835 and the difference was amazing. .5 in a choke you would think would not make much difference but it was substantial in my gun and after looking at the chart from last year thats what they recommended.

This years web site has no chart that I could find and they just recommend the .675 as the "best" which I had bought year before last. Why the change? They even recommend the small shot size in 3" and 3 1/2". Frustrating.

And for Win LB v.s.Hevi, we all did those test last year and although Hevi may have more knock down beyond 40 Yrd. LB wears it out!

Got a TruLock long beard #5 shot choke this weekend in Nashville (great price). The guys I talked to swear by it so we will see if I don't like it send it back. I will go back to my Kicks.
