Well my KY hunt is over. Took the boy for his second turkey hunt and the weather was horrible ! Had bad storms and hail Friday and Saturday. We did get to hunt for about 5 hours each day. The birds were extremely quiet and only heard a few gobbling on the roost. Put a stalk on two long beards on Sunday and he got a shot, knocked the bird down but it got up and started running. I shot and knocked him down again but he got up and flew off. Never could find him. But we had a great hunt !In all we saw twenty-two gobblers ! It just wasnt meant to be. This is his first season and he's already hooked ! I have maybe one more day I'll get to take him at the end of season. Maybe we can close the deal then.
