Was taking down some cameras to place elsewhere and ran across something I hadn't thought of. I run lock boxes with all my cameras and one has been on a hickory for about 4yrs overlooking the house/driveway. Well, that box is there to stay, darn lags didn't move as the tree grew so the bolt head is sunk into the tree. Lol Actually caved the metal of the box in around the lag heads.

I use metal boxes and cables to secure my cameras, but...I've considered putting lag bolts in to better secure my cameras. This was one down side, along with damage to trees.

If you leave them on the same tree ongoing,
just turn the lag bolts counter-clockwise about 1/2 to a turn each year.

I use many different ways of mounting, placing and/or hiding cams.
The advantages of a bolted security box include less noticeable from opposite direction,
usually more secure than Python cable, and cam better protected from heavy rain & sun deterioration.

As the cams have gotten smaller over the past few years,
I'm often having trouble finding my cams even when I know where they're located!
