It's funny that you post this, because I've spoken to several folks lately who all have the same observation about there not being that much water in SW Tennessee that is navigable and holds good numbers of fish. The proposed location of this lake is roughly half the distance for me to travel to the TN River, so I'd love to see an alternate destination come up that would allow me more options within my home state. Right now, I just hear people say "drive to Arkansas!" or "drive to Mississippi!".
I tell you what - if you could come up with a plan to build a lake large enough for recreational boaters in the Memphis area, you could make a killing. I feel like I'm living in a boating desert. Almost every lake within an hour of my house is no-wake and fished to death. I hope it gets built!
It also makes me think about buying land in that area...
