Heading to the woods tomorrow morning with Nimrod in hopes of seeing his third tag getting filled. Even if it doesn't I'm sure it will be a good day in the woods. Taking the camera and a call or two. As usual turkey season has come and gone too quickly. Will post update tomorrow on how the hunting goes. Saw four strutters in a field yesterday where I have seen the same for birds a couple times a week, unfortunately can't hunt there but we have plenty of public land to roam.

I hunted from sun up til 4 PM yesterday. Saw hens, but not a beard anywhere. About walked my legs off, too.

Early in the morning I heard a gobbler across a flooded creek. at 11:30 I pulled into the area where I'd heard him earlier. While I was gearing up, he was gobbling, with no stimuli from me! And when I stepped off the pavement, it was like a switch had been cut off. Never made another sound. I guess he was one call-shy bird! Probably has scars around his ears from a near-miss.

Showed up this morning before the sun to try and ambush him, but he apparently wasn't in that area today.

he's gonna be tasting the turkey droppings to see if its from a gobbler or not.
