So I'm thinking he was 2.5 last year and 3.5 this year? What you think? Certainly put on some mass...

Sure looks like going from 2 1/2 to 3 1/2, and very typical of the difference seen from one year to the next.

Should you take him this year, he will be a more special "trophy" simply because you have the prior year's pics, and possibly because you "let him walk" last year.

I love being able to watch bucks grow from one year to the next.
This is my 3rd season on this farm and were trying to let the 3.5 year old bucks walk. Especially the home body bucks like this one. This guy lives in the heart of the farm and I get him on multiple cameras daily. At the same mineral site there's a bachelor group that comes about every 2 weeks and I don't get them on any other cameras thus far so they must have a much wider range or I'm at the edge of there range... I'm going to keep my fingers crossed he makes it through the year and is just a bigger heavier 8pt next year and at the top of my list...

Even though he is a very very nice deer He needs to grow another year if you can let him walk, which would not be easy. He looks like he has enormous potential. The first pictures, he looks like he is starving. This year he is obviously more fit. Best of luck with him.
