last years mount is done

Finally got my 8 point from last year back from the taxidermist. I shot him late, December 23rd, 2011. I was really on the fence about this one. I always sort of figured anything over 120" was worth the full mount. This one came in right at 110" but was very symmetrical and tall. Now I just have to find a good permanent place to put him.

Redblood, he was only 3 1/2 years old. I'm not great at judging them on the hoof. If I had it to do all over again I would have walked this one.I have been studying this year and am quite a bit better at field judging and aging deer. I walked a much older, but smaller deer last year and didn't realize it. This guy would have been a whopper come November, Oh well I'm still proud of him and nothing was wasted.
