I have not had many opportunities in the last 4 years to hunt past the first week in April. I went yesterday morning and it was dead quite. I know turkey hunting changes from day to day but is the hunting a lot different in the last part of the season. I have no experience so I thought I would ask those that do.

You tell me man i went to some public land friday morning Heard 13 gobblers some gobbling til lunch time. yesterday same place notta single gobble?

yea i am wondering what will happen this year, i am going to try to hunt some between now and the end of the season.

heard only a few gobbles, mostly jakes, about 300-500 yards through the trees this morning, while they were on the roost. Less than usual for birds on the limb, but then I had a longbeard in the field for 2-3 hours gobbling every minute or two and strutting most of the time with some hens.

Hunt quite, they have been called to a lot and are getting call shy. Hang in there and you will catch one gobbling in the next few weeks. When you do sneek in quitly and only call gently and less than you normally do. If he starts coming your way be quite and make him look for you.

man I hope it does pick up soon. How does the weather and rain affect things. will they go to the fields after a rain
