NDA’s Deer Report Finds 88% of U.S. Whitetail Harvest Occurs on Private Land

Texas had the highest rate of private-land deer harvest at 99%. Massachusetts reported the highest public-land harvest at 43%, according to NDA's Deer Report.

When I first started preaching/teaching QDM back in the late 90s, I never in my wildest dreams thought we would see 3 1/2 year-old buck harvests far exceeding yearling buck harvests. I honestly expected QDM to stay a niche management program primarily practiced by a few large landowners. All I can say is "Wow!"
