LBL opening weekend

I had considered it a couple of times in the past but since I have a lease that I am usually at it on opening day. now that I have a camper, I may reconsider it at some point.

I fish ginger a lot but have hunted mostly in 12 the last few years I just wondered if anyone hunted the early part of season much.

what scouting I have done this year which is little,
just a good drive thru and some hiking on the BG trail it looks like the deer herd is in good shape they were every where, quite a few bucks all in velvet and not large enough to tell much but lots of deer.

I am hunting statewide at my property but setting up a group camp at the crossroads of Ginger Bay Rd. And Road 206 from the first of November til the 13 th when we have to turn it over to the orange coats. Hoping to set up my 2 large tents and hunters can filter in and out through that time frame. All archery equipment welcome, I have some that are disabled coming and I think they use a crossbow...if things change I'll post here.

that's good to hear Roger, I will try to hook up with you let me know if you want some help I hope to hunt LBL more this year.
I have kitchen will travel ;)

the way you cook I will be surprised if you hunt. :D
mighty fine apple cobbler a couple weeks ago. mmmmmmm.

The first gun hunt has been moved to the second week of November so this time frame is ideal for killing a good buck...hope to see a few ole familiar faces there....

Permit went to 35 dollars, includes backcountry camping. Soybeans planted in all the fields on 206 from Ginger Bay towards Rushing Creek...the remsinder is in standing corn..permanent barricades are being erected on the 65 miles of vehicle access roads being closed.

I am not a traditional bow hunter, heck I can't even pull back my compound anymore, but stretch and myself will be there.

Hawk probably will be too. :D

Piney Campground, chestnut loop. :D

Come on by and grab a bite to eat.

Grant, I boycotted Colorado after the gun legislation and recreational marijuana useage bill...and I bought a house and was tied up with it.

Roger I hear that,
that's why I was wondering about opening weekend at LBL as My mother-in-law is coming for a visit (2 weeks) from Denver and that is all she will want to talk about is how great the gun ban is so I am taking a trip of my own for about lets see 2 weeks!

sure am glad she gets here on opening day ;) makes my excuse for me!

Dave and Ruger I hope to meet you folks around camp.

I am planning on it Roger, I am semi retired these days so time off should not be a problem other projects might from time to time get in the way.

Eddie, I have not decided yet a friend has offered his Houston county farm as a hide out also and it has no cell service as well.

last hike thru the area I have always hunted in 12 had a lot fresh saw work I may have to relearn the area again.

n.
Oh that would be sweet, no cell service. I would have withdrawal for a day or two but I think I could manage.

Well the Houston county hide out won out I have a stand or two already hung there that will give me a fall back.

so I will save my LBL tags for Rogers hunt in November there are some finger ridges across the road from there that I have always wanted to hunt.

Headed out this morning so every one have a great opener.
the Mother-In-Law flies out on Sunday Oct, 5th so I'll be back Monday or Tuesday.
