I'm gonna try to get up there this year to chase some nut buzzards. Who all is going? I put in for the quota hunts but this is my first year, so i guess I'll go up on one of the non-quota weekends.

I think Aaron, Shane and I are going for the non-quota hunt..... probably camp out like last year....if nothing changes. It all depends on work and funds.

I think we talked about the first weekend of the non-quota hunt.... The non-quota hunt begins Monday April 19 to the end of season I believe.

Stretch and I will be there the first couple / few days of the first non-quota hunt week, as we always are. :D

We will be staying at Piney.

I'd like to sometime, but our youngen will only be 5 months old so you probably won't see me up there this year. Maybe next year. :)

We just set up camp in a little field beside a creek......

Mommy can watch that boy while you hunt a few days.....

Don't know about camping and listening to yotes...... all we could hear was them dang frogs!!!!

But we had fun just the same..... would have been better with some tndeer family staying with us though.....

BigAl and myself usually get up there with a couple of guys. We got drawn for the quota last year so I imagine this years quota is out. We talked briefly about going up during the non-quota but Al is trying to get his house built so it's iffy.

We saw people while driving and looking for places to try. But in 2 days hunting, NEVER ran into anyone while walking the woods.....

Course not many folks will wade the swamps and belly crawl with the snakes to try and get a shot either.... :D :D

Ive saw 2 big rattlers there 5' 10 and a button 6.5' 13 and a button was the size of a 20" tire coiled up. You wont have to worry about stepping on them.

heres a pic of the small one last season.one step away when I saw him. They seem to always be laying on sticks like that.
