I was looking at the kill numbers so far and I was surprised:
April 4: 1 longbeard
Youth hunt: 3 longbeards
Tuesday/Wednesday hunt: 6 longbeards and 2 jakes
Weekend hunt so far: 0 birds

Last year there were 45 longbeards and 4 jakes killed on the 3 hunts. Also, how was there a bird checked in on April 4th when there were no hunts open? The weekend numbers could improve, but right now the kills are way behind. I know the weather is probably the culprit but the numbers were very surprising.

I'm here right now, we've heard two the hole weekend. Lots of folks driving around which tells me there original spots didn't work. Of course cold, wet, and windy isn't helping.

You definitely drew a bad hand on the weather this weekend. I'm thinking I got lucky NOT to draw and get a preference point.

That bird checked in on the 4th was probably killed on the 14th (second quota hunt was 14th-15th) and a mistake on the entry showed 4th.

Headed that way Wednesday for about 4 days. Usually have more fun watching the googans than the turkeys but most of them are out of
the woods and at McDonalds by 8am.
