LBL youth hunt

Taking my son out for the LBL youth hunt in a week and a half and need some pointers. I've never hunted the land but visited a few years ago. Going early Friday to scout and hopefully roost one. Not asking for any one's honey hole just some general areas , advice on fields vs woods would be greatly appreciated. Hunting the TN side.

Start your scouting in the creek bottoms with agricultural fields that have been used and are still clear enough to hold turkeys. Don't expect for turkeys to be in the open like they would on private property, I would say woods most likely.

tough place to hunt for sure. One thing for certain be aggressive on getting close to a gobbling bird. If you don't it is HIGHLY likely someone will sneak in between you and the bird and bust him. Had it happen MANY times at LBL over the years.
