LBL

I know some guys that got drawn for the 3rd year in a row. I can't understand this, especially since they reduced the 2 quota hunts by 200. But I'm happy for them.

My son got drawn for the TN youth hunt on april 11-12. I did not get drawn for april 18-19 but I got a point. I am happy for my son. He is 15 and this will be his first turkey hunt at LBL. We will probably go for one of the nonquota hunts later in the season.

There is definitely something wrong with their selection process if Roost had 1 point going into last year's draw and didn't get drawn last year and those who have now been drawn 3 and 4 years in a row and had 0 preference points did get drawn last year. Am I missing something here??

That would explain it then. But I'd like to hear from anyone who had at least 1 preference point going into this year's draw and did not get drawn. If that's the case, then something is skewed with the draw.

There could be a couple of reasons for not drawing a hunt. #! is it is according to how many people apply and #2 is some people only put in for one of the two hunts and the one they put in for is full while the other hunt still has openings. I usually get a hunt every other year on the average. I think they should do away with the draw hunts and just add another week to the season.

I went to LBL last year but came home empty handed. Did find some birds and spent both days on them but just couldn't seal the deal. Any body have any pointers for there?

Set up where the birds want to go and call sparingly. And when you do call just cluck and purr.
