Leading Candidate For Florida Job!!

Heard that and met a Bama fan in Vegas from my hat. He asked me about the next UF coach and I mentioned it could be Bama's former OC. He had nothing but great reviews and stated that it would be a good hire.

Of course bama fans like him lol he is apart of Bama's coaching staff at the moment
Go ask.
USC
UT
And the Oakland raiders lol

I dont really want Florida to get a good coach but he sure looks like a great coach,he sure turned Colorado St around!!I still think Florida fans will not be pleased with this hire because he's not a big name coach, kinda like Urban Meyer,Nick Saban,Gus Malzahn,Hugh Freeze and others but we see what they did!!

Who ever it is I dont see them steping in and winning 7+ in year 1 and 11 in year 2. Like muschamp did.
If he comes in and has 2 advantage years 5,6,7 wins in back to back years then florida fans will be real unhappy like alot of vol fans were with jones in year 2. UF like the vols are hungry for a 9,10,11 game wining year again and they want it NOW.

I think they will get six wins the first two games but east Carolina is No joke.
vandy and Kentucky makes 4 wins
There other cupcake late in the season makes 5 wins
And I think they beat the vols or SC for win #6

Its hard to see more then 7 when yoy look at the vols
Should start out 2-1 Oklahoma being the 1.
Vandy, Kentucky and north Texas should ALL be Wins so thats 5 wins.
Florida
Arkansas
MIZZ
Georgia
Bama
SC

I THINK they win 2 out of them 6 games.
And finsh 7-5, I dont think this would suprise anyone even If they won 8 it would not surprise many people but if they dont hit 7 I think a few will be very suprised

There you have it folks! If an Updyke said it, it must be fact! Congrats to the gaytors on their National Championship next year! Who is living in Disneyland now? ;)

Dang it! Almost forgot.... :)

Since gator likes to browse volnation and come back here to give us all the good information.................I figured I would see what other gator fans are saying about them potentially making this hire.........

"there's no freaking comparison to Meyer and mclwain. I see nothing simular. The truth is Mclwain is the fat chick you leave with at closing time because everyone else turned you down"

"I can't imagine how far down the list we are if this guy is even being considered. This is Derek Dooleyish"

"Imagine, we could steal all those excellent 2 star recruits from CSU to try to repair our recruiting class and take advantage of all his great ties with recruits throughout Montana and Idaho. It's hard to imagine why some thing this would be Fooley's Folley Part 4."

:)

So Tennessee beats Utah State 38-7 and all we hear is how weak Utah State is. Now the gaytor's new coach's signature win is a 16-13 win over the same team! You can't make this stuff up. The tndeer football "experts" should be at the circus with floppy shoes and big red noses! :D All kidding aside that might not be CSU's signature win. It could be Nevada. Or San Jose State. Or New Mexico. Or UC Davis! :D What a stellar hire if it happens! At least ONE gaytor fan is happy with the hire even if gaytor nation is furious.

Oh yeah, :)

I think the gators that are mad haven't forgotten the 2009 SEC title game. McElwain has two more NC rings than anyone on the vol staff, so be careful what you wish for.

Yep.. Been reported for over a week thay he was at the top of the Gators list... :)

History will tell you that there are few coaching jobs in college football that are filled by the first coach offered. I equate an offer to an athletic department contacting the agent of a coach. AD's don't call a coach and say "hey, will you come here for $x per year". If a school is going to contact an agent, they're willing to work a deal if the interest in there.

I know a guy that has two World Series rings, even though he never saw the first pitch. Guess he should be expecting a call from the Hall of Fame. It is refreshing that the Updykes will rush to the defense of a former Updyke coach. :)

It was first stated that it would be a good hire by a "bama fan" gator met in vegas..............now it has been confirmed by one of the resident elephants here on the forum..........no need for anymore discussion

Yep... McElwaine is the only coach that Foley has flew out to visit so far in this search. He also has a big buy out so if FL hires him than he must be well regarded. Also he's been named as a top canidate for awhile now as Muschamp's replacement.

Go Gators... :)
