Looks like Colorado State's head coach may get the Gator job but he has a big buyout clause.

"there's no freaking comparison to Meyer and mclwain. I see nothing simular. The truth is Mclwain is the fat chick you leave with at closing time because everyone else turned you down"
"I can't imagine how far down the list we are if this guy is even being considered. This is Derek Dooleyish"
"Imagine, we could steal all those excellent 2 star recruits from CSU to try to repair our recruiting class and take advantage of all his great ties with recruits throughout Montana and Idaho. It's hard to imagine why some thing this would be Fooley's Folley Part 4."
Spurhunter said:So Tennessee beats Utah State 38-7 and all we hear is how weak Utah State is. Now the gaytor's new coach's signature win is a 16-13 win over the same team! You can't make this stuff up. The tndeer football "experts" should be at the circus with floppy shoes and big red noses! All kidding aside that might not be CSU's signature win. It could be Nevada. Or San Jose State. Or New Mexico. Or UC Davis! What a stellar hire if it happens! At least ONE gaytor fan is happy with the hire even if gaytor nation is furious.
Oh yeah,

It was first stated that it would be a good hire by a "bama fan" gator met in vegas..............now it has been confirmed by one of the resident elephants here on the forum..........no need for anymore discussion

I equate an offer to an athletic department contacting the agent of a coach. AD's don't call a coach and say "hey, will you come here for $x per year". If a school is going to contact an agent, they're willing to work a deal if the interest in there.

Yep... McElwaine is the only coach that Foley has flew out to visit so far in this search. He also has a big buy out so if FL hires him than he must be well regarded. Also he's been named as a top canidate for awhile now as Muschamp's replacement.
Go Gators...
