Spike buck just ran across our front yard. Granted, we have a big yard but we're well within city limits with no cover to speak of anywhere close by. Crazy buck was too chicken or tired to jump the fence into the neighbors yard so he dropped down like he was gonna crawl under it. He quickly saw that wasn't going to work so ran down the fence line and was last seen on Mayfair Dr.
Had the umbrella in one hand and the leash in the other, and Moose must've been as surprised as I was because he didn't even bark.
Guess the buck chased a doe nearby but she got away from him somehow? He wasn't cruising with his nose down. Only thing that slowed him down was the fence. Anyhow, this kind of behavior is why I stopped shooting yearling bucks a long time ago. Stupidest thing in the woods…or town.
