Building another rifle for western hunts and caint decide on the glass. I'm currently running a VX3i 4.5-14-50 CDS with a 30mm tube and have no complaints, but considering going to the VX5HD. The only thing throwing me is that the 5 only comes in a 44 or a 56mm objective. I am not a fan of 40 objectives but I'm a bit skiddish of the 56 pushing my scope extremely high affecting check weld.

What's y'all opinions?

Gun will be a tikka T3X superlite 300 win, shots in the field out to 500-600

I would think on a Superlight rifle the 56MM OBJ would make the rifle handle unwieldy and throw the balance way off .

Stick with the 40MM Leopold glass will make up for it

I have both a vx5 3-15x44 and vx3i 4.5-14x40, but my 3 is the 1inch model with locking turret. I like the 5 but for a rifle that I'd be doing a lot of walking I'd opt for a 3i in 30mm for weight savings. Either would be fine glass

I really liked leopold till my eyes started changing.
Then I could no longer focus them to where I could see clearly through them. I had to go with fast focus scopes ever since. Depending on your age I would add that to my considerations.
