It's been one heck of a weekend! He has seen and heard a lot of firsts and learned some very valuable lessons in the turkey woods. We got back into the woods this afternoon on a farm we hunted yesterday with no luck. We get setup and I make a series yelps. I wait about 15 minutes and yelp again. We hear one gobble about 100 yards off. I go quite and two gobblers came in to around 50 yards. These birds are very nervous so 1 of them heads back in the opposite direction. The other one hangs up but I make a few soft yelp. He comes on in to about 40 yards but wouldn't come any closer. So he gets nervous and heads on out. We get up and head to another farm. We bump a lone gobbler going in on the edge of a hayfield. We setup on the edge of this field and I call about every 15 minutes for around an hour. I could hear a distant gobble ever once in a while getting closer but with the wind blowing I can't judge how far off they are. I make another series of yelps and nothing. I look down the field and I see turkeys heading our way. It's 9 longbeards still grouped up. They come in to 30 yards and I tell him to get on one. He does and says he is ready. So I tell him when he is comfortable to take the shot. He does and the bird hits the ground. I am a believer now in the 410 tss #9's. He was grinning from ear to ear! 19.1 pounds 10 inch beard 7/8 spurs
