Finally got out today with livescope and found myself wanting a longer rod to watch the action on screen a little easier. I've always used 7' give or take 6". Anyone experience the same and what did you wind up with?
If it makes you feel better, I installed this crap before deer season then took all the units back out for deer and duck season. Today was my first trip…I just want to get out on the water and try my new setup out. I have a garmin 106 and Livescope but it hasn't even touched water yet but I figured I needed a longer crappie pole
I'll definitely get a couple longer rods. I was thinking a 13' and a 15'If it makes you feel better, I installed this crap before deer season then took all the units back out for deer and duck season. Today was my first trip…
FYI, buy a longer rod before you go.
Their website is somewhat vague. Are all 12'+ rods foam?Almost all my rods are southern crappie rods.
2/3 rods I carried today were BnM. In my experience, I've nothing negative to say about the company.Been using a b'n'm super stick that's 13' but I'm sure there's better rods out there
Longer rods aren't always better. Sometimes casting to the fish is better.Really starting to wish I hadn't already told the Mrs. "I was done" with this project. Damned on me for not thinking/researching this part out. I knew at the first pile my short rods weren't going to cut it…
Keep the rod recommendations coming. I've never fished anything much longer than my current.

I have a x15 as well, it's tough to hold. Heavy and not balanced well. Almost have to hold it at the front of the handle and I put a bigger reel on it to help balance as well. That 14' Dobyns is half the weight. Just gotta see what kind of back bone it has nowThe two guys I go with use 15' Todd Huckabee K rods with baitcast reels, but they are drooling over the Jenko Big T X series 15' rods which are very lightweight.
The guys I've been with will cast to them if the fish are really aggressive, but if not they'll use a long rod to keep the bait in front of them longer.Longer rods aren't always better. Sometimes casting to the fish is better.
Thanks for that info. I was leaning toward the X 15. I thought it was super light. I haven't seen the Dobyns. Keep us posted on it.I have a x15 as well, it's tough to hold.
