I went this morning to a place that had birds gobbling hard all last season. Seen a bunch during the fall and winter while deer hunting. This morning I went to listen before work. Nothing not a sound!!! I hunt mainly Anderson County both private and public lands. Anyone else have birds that are not sounding off good yet?

I haven't heard a gobble in the morning in 2 days and I know there are birds there.

In the same spot I was yesterday when heard two. Silence today. They didn't gobble much yesterday but at least I knew they were there.

You guys need to get your loudest box call out chalk it up good ...this after the late morning....Get on high ground against a Big tree and hammer out some cuts and yelps..then listen. ...Then Go to your bird. You have to get them excited to get them to gobble sometimes.

No joke I have walked 5.2 miles today and have yet to hear or see a bird.

Didn't hear a single bird anywhere this morning. Thats a first so far for this season. :bore:

I actually heard my first birds gobble today. Hunted Sat, Mon, Wed, Thur and heard not a single gobble until this morning. Heard 3 different birds gobble one time each - the closest one was a broken up half-hearted gobble of I assume a jake. Hopefully it will pick up soon.

left the office for lunch today and pulled out the driveway and seen 8 out in field. First I've seen or heard this year.

I hunted everyday since Monday and only heard two gobbles. Walked several miles and nothing. South of Jackson, TN

Thank you all for making me feel better. I thought I might be in the minority for dealing with the shutmouth devils. The sign says the birds are there, but I certainly can't verify from what I am hearing. I'm giving them a rest for a couple of days in hopes that it will be better when I head back.

They standing around blowed up like a Volkswagen spinning around. Not moving very far at all. I got one to gobble wedensday and he died. This is tough hunting right now. On my lease we missed the best week.

Been really good gobbling for me in Cheatham everyday but wed didn't hear a peep. I've already killed 3 all gobbling their heads off all the way too me.
