Do some digging. You would be surprised how much public land is available that many people just don't know about.

Make a trip to your tax assessors office and see if they are aware of any land owned by the fed, state, county, or city governments that might allow public usage.

Or, go knock doors. It only takes one yes!

Man I wish I could help you but my only piece of turkey hunting property in West TN was taken from me by a poacher.

Good luck though.

Just a thought, there is Nathez Trace that is public land.

Natchez Trace is about 2 hours and 15 minutes from me. I've never hunted there, but have studied the WMA on Google Earth and concluded that there are too many roads crisscrossing the WMA to really be worth investing the time into at 2 hours away. It appears that there is no way to get more than a quarter mile from any given roads. At that distance, it would be more worthwhile to head into the Nashville area which is much more productive on the turkey hunting front anyway.

You would be surprised on how good Natchez Trace is for Turkeys
Espicially the South side

Poser let me know if you ever make it out to White Oak and let me know what you found. thought about going out there myself to check it out but something always comes up. don't think I have ever talked to anyone that has hunted the property and don't recall anyone talking about it here. Its either not that great or the best seceret in TN. Sure wish we had some better public turkey hunting in West TN.
