My 16 yr old has taken a liking to compounds.. To a point that he's had me buy him a Hoyt for Christmas. You could put everything I know about bows on one single line of notebook paper if you wrote kind of small :) In other words, I'm looking for someone compound knowledgeable who shoots a lot anyway and is good with teaching kids that I could talk into helping my 16 yr old some. We live in Bells - just north of Jackson.

If you're close by and up for this please shoot me a PM.

Thanks!

Well - I probably need that too but mostly want to start the kid out with good habits, by shooting with an experienced shooter, instead of the kind of habits I picked up in golf and everything else I learned on my own ;) Thanks

If I was closer, I would certainly help out. I'm sure that there is someone in here that would help. If not, check with some of the local archery clubs that hold 3D shootsI'm certain you will find help there.

I'm with you there it's harder to break bad habits than learn the right way !!!!if you have any tech probs. gimme a holler .Make SURE draw length is correct and poundage is not too heavy .let him build up slowly ,so he isn't struggling to pull the bow back.Hope this helps some.

Gander Mountain in Jackson has a nice indoor range and hold league shoot and I believe the State Championship is held there. I'm sure one of the guys in the archery section would be more than happy to help out.

Had not thought of that but I'm actually only 15 miles from that place.

I think I'll give them a call today and see if they can point me in the right direction.. Thanks!

Thanks.. They would be a little over an hour from me and I really need something close so I think I'll give the Gander Mountain idea a try 1st.

Thanks to everyone who has responded!
