I have a benelli sbe ii Just received it for Christmas and am looking for some good turkey loads on it. I'd like to know what you guys shoot in your sbe ii along with shells , choke, and what kind of ranges you get with them. Thanks!

take a look in the Pattern Thread above, there are a few different SBE2 options so far.

I have one and have done a TON of testing on mine so if you have any specific questions or want to just talk about it feel free to hit me up i can prob save you a bunch of money in the end.

The bottom line is this. Benelli guns have a small bore .723 and generally like chokes in the 650-660 range with 650 and 655 being more in the sweet spot on average. My advice is to choose the ammo you would like to shoot to start with and then match the choke to that ammo. Hevi Magblends for example have shown to do fantastic out of the 650 and 655 chokes on SBE2's but if you want to shoot say LongBeard 5 shot then the 655 - 660 range is a little better option.

if you want to shoot tss then that is a whole different way of thinking as you will want something more open in the 665 - 670 range. The LongBeard ammo seem to be the less finicky about specific chokes so you can usually get away with a slightly less expensive one if using that ammo. If you are wanting to shoot Hevi shot 6's, 7s or magblends then you can get more specific on tried and true chokes for that ammo such as a Sumtoy 650, Rob Roberts 655 or a Jebs 655 (that one being pretty expensive). If you are wanting to shoot the federal HeavyWeight ammo then you will need to ditch the wad catching chokes and ported ones and look more at Carlsons or trulock options as an example.

anways i have spent HOURS and a lot of money on trying a ton of ammo and chokes in mine and can honestly say there is very few combos i have not shot so feel free to ask anything you want to ask, I'm not the end all on SBEs just have a lot of experience in shooting benellis

I have killed a ton of turkeys with 3 inch Winchester Supreme High Velocity and the standard modified choke my SBE2 came with. I switched to a Kicks choke and a Pure Gold choke a couple years ago and missed more turkeys than I care to talk about.

With the combo mentioned above I can easily kill a gobbler out to 45 yards.

My setup after going through quite a few choke/shell combo tests. It has been very deadly combination for me. I won't mention a confidence distance, because you won't believe me anyways.

Kicks Gobblin' Thunder .655
Winchester Supreme 3.5", 1300fps, 2oz., 6 shot

There is also a tremendous amount of information on the subject available on the Benelli forums.
Good luck!
